Over one million meals are served each year by the Catering Department. Food is cooked fresh on the premises daily, and transported to the wards via dedicated food trolleys. Staff and visitors are catered for in our busy staff canteen.
The catering department underwent a major transformation in 2007,when CUH was amalgamated with CUMH. The catering department now comprises of two floors: the ground floor manages food deliveries, the kitchen is located here and it is also home to patient meal services, whilst on the first floor there is the staff canteen and administration. The catering department was awarded the HIQA Emerald Award in 2009 for excellence of services.
