Maternity Care Options

Women can choose to have their antenatal care provided in public or private sector. All options are suitable for shared care with the woman’s family doctor.

Antenatal care is provided within the public sector is offered in a number of different formats within the CUMH depending on patients medical circumstances and their personal choice.

This service is provided with close liaison with our Consultant Endocrinology Colleagues throughout the city and their Specialist Nurse Teams. Patients are referred here if they have pre pregnancy Diabetes or if they develop Diabetes in pregnancy (Gestational Diabetes). We are very happy to see patients preconceptually to help optimize their care prior to pregnancy. Staff Midwife Marion O’Mahony manages this clinic. The consultants that lead this service are;
