Patient Meals Services

Meals are delivered to wards in trolleys.  The meals are plated and kept hot by a heated base/lid (Insul Plus system). Facilities are provided at ward level for the preparation of snacks (tea, coffee, biscuits, toast)

Two diet chefs are employed each day to cook meals for patients on special diets. These diets would include:

  • Low Cholesterol
  • High Protein
  • Diabetic – Renal
  • Diabetic – Insulin Dependent
  • Diabetic – Non- Insulin Dependent
  • Coeliac / Gluten Free
  • Set Diet

Meal Times are as follows:

01.00 – 02.00 Night Meal

Staff Canteen

Staff Canteen - Tel No. 20314

The staff canteen seats 650 people. A full range of meals are served. A counter service is in place for hot meals. A sandwich counter is open for lunch where freshly made sandwiches and wraps are available. Teas, coffees, snacks and salads are provided by self service. The meals provided in the canteen are breakfast (cereals, scones, croissants and sausage rolls), morning coffee & snacks, lunch, evening meal and night meal.


The Opening Hours are as follows:

Mon – Fri

07.30 – 14.30             

17.30-   19.00 

Night Meal 01.00 – 02.00

 

Sat & Sun       

08.00 – 14.30 

17.30 – 18.30             

Night Meal 01.00 – 02.00

Patients are not allowed access to the canteen.
