Voluntary Services
Department
Cork University Hospital
There are many caring people who contribute enormously to patients' experience at CUH. These are concerned members of the public who give up their time on a voluntary basis, staff members who work beyond the call of duty and numerous voluntary organisations that provide much needed funding for additional staff or equipment.
We wish to acknowledge the contributions made by these people and organisations and assure that they are making a valuable difference to the quality of health care.
Weather its spinning Cd's on CUH FM, organising a bed push, taking the time to address the spiritual needs of patients, donating beautiful art work or funding the purchase of sophisticated medical equipment - the hospital is sincerely grateful for the generous efforts of these people.
'Friends of Cork University Hospital' provide a continuous range of valuable services on a voluntary basis. For example, ward listing, library service, hairdressing, supplying magazines and toys, providing plants to day rooms, a translation service for foreign patients and staffing an information desk in Out-patients.
