Human Resources (HR) Department
CUH has its own human resources function and works with HSE South’s Corporate HR, which encompasses Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance & Development, Occupational Health and EAP.
The Human Resources Department in CUH assists in the recruiting of all replacement and newly approved posts and implementation of a comprehensive induction package for all new employees in the CUH.
The Department liaises with the Personnel Department to improve the Recruitment process to make it as effective as possible for managers and the personnel Department to identify on going recruitment requirements. Manpower plans are being developed in particular relation to professions facing the greater shortages of staff or having problems with the recruitment and the retention of staff.
CUH will continue to recognise, value and strive to develop their staff and will assist them to fulfil their full potential. This is achieved through personal development planning and training.
The Human Resources endeavours to attract, develop and retain the best people by adopting vigorous recruitment and retention measures to ensure that we deliver a high quality service to the public.
The partnership approach continues to gain prominence as a model by involving all staff in the decision making process. Further implementation of the N.C.H.D. agreement has been progressed with the appointment of the Medical Manpower Manager. Discussions on the development of a crèche facility at the CUH are on going and this may entice people back to the workforce
