Nora Bradley, the oncology and haematology physiotherapist, treats both inpatients and outpatients who require physiotherapy.
Inpatients may be treated on any ward during admission for chest infections, decreased mobility, muscle weakness or if they have swelling of the arms or legs which is called lymphoedema. Treatments include breathing exercises, improving mobility, exercise programmes, and bandaging and massage for patients with lymphoedema.
Outpatients requiring physiotherapy are treated in the Dunmanway Day unit. Patients following breast surgery may require treatment for shoulder stiffness or lymphoedema.
