Plastic & Maxillo Facial Surgery

 

Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and the only Level 1 Trauma centre in the country due to the presence of over 40 different medical and surgical specialities on the campus.   

Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons treat diseases, injuries and defects in the face, mouth and head & neck region. The service in CUH is restricted to the treatment of acute injuries and presentations. 

Access to the service is via Accident & Emergency departments or inpatient consultation requests from other specialities. The Department offers a multi-disciplinary service working closely with in-house Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other disciplines of staff to ensure patients are given the best possible care when accessing the service. 

Facial trauma service is provided to the following counties: 

  • Cork
  • Kerry
  • South Tipperary
  • Waterford 

There is a trauma outpatient clinic on Monday afternoon’s in CUH.
