Cork University Hospital (CUH) is the largest university teaching hospital in Ireland and the only Level 1 Trauma centre in the country due to the presence of over 40 different medical and surgical specialities on the campus. 

Access to the service is via Accident & Emergency departments. The Department offers a multi-disciplinary service working closely with in-house Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Plaster Room Technician’s and other disciplines of staff to ensure patients are given the best possible care when accessing orthopaedic services.   We offer both inpatient and outpatient care to patients who have suffered a trauma leading to a fracture or break.   

The elective Orthopaedic Service is based in the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital.   Access to this service is via referral from a General Practitioner or Consultant.  For any queries relating to elective or planned orthopaedic surgery please contact the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital (www.sivuh.ie)
