The Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) Unit is a pre-operative unit where you are prepared for your operation on the day of your surgery. You will already have had a pre-admission assessment where your fitness for anaesthesia/surgery was assessed. 

Patients who have been assessed in the Pre Admission Assessment Clinic will be admitted to the DOSA Unit on the day of their planned surgery. After their surgery, the patient will be transferred to a ward for recovery. If the patient is for day surgery they will be discharged the same day. All other patients will stay in hospital as advised by their surgical team.
